Charles Schroeder brings to Bockrath & Associates 30 years of experience working as a Transportation Engineer at the Ohio Department of Transportation. Mr. Schroeder’s experience includes project management & administration and inspection of construction projects.
Working as a project engineer on your project Mr. Schroeder experience brings a unique perspective as to the overall constructability of your project. Identifying and working to resolve potential problems which could be encountered prior to your project moving into construction.

Conduct monthly progress meetings where I lead discussions regarding the current state of the project and the future state roadmap so projects are completed on scope and within budget.
Administer construction projects in the field for the district construction office which includes assuring that materials are from approved suppliers and/or from approved sources.
Monitor the inspection force so they understand what is to be expected of them and which items need to be monitored.
Review Force Account submittals for accuracy and completeness.
Write change orders for additional work that is needed to meet field conditions that occur on the project for District Office approval.
Perform field inspections to ensure day to day activities are being properly completed.
Supervise 14 employees ranging from Transportation Engineer I through Transportation Manager III.
Perform general HR functions related to construction team which include: approving overtime, recommending leave requests, and enforcing ODOT policies and procedures as it relates to the project.
Mentor 5 young transportation engineers that currently work at ODOT.

New Highway Construction - Northwest Ohio
Served as project manager for the construction and completion of a brand new 12.5 mile long 4-lane highway built from the Indiana-Ohio border to U.S. 127 | Construction Budget: $70MM | Duration of project: 3 years spanning April of 2007 to March of 2009.
